Our story

Thanks for visiting and supporting HALO Eclipse Spectacles. The company started in 2017 with one goal: safe, sustainable, and beautiful eyewear made for eclipse viewing.

It began in the weeks before the 2017 North American eclipse. We went looking for high-quality eyewear worthy of the event we were about to witness, and found nothing. So HALO was born.

At HALO, we lead with style and we anchor in safety. Our eclipse lenses are tested by an independent professional laboratory and meet the requirements of ISO 12312-2:2015 for safe solar viewing, and our supplier is listed by the American Astronomical Society's Solar Eclipse Task Force as a reputable manufacturer of safe solar filters.

Buying HALO supports a careful, considered approach to sustainability and integrity in our business. A portion of our proceeds supports local classroom eclipse viewing trips and local artists.
